Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
I think it's fair to say that that pex is broken defensively as mag and libero cinderace (and to a lesser extent urshifu) were broken offensively. Incredible stats for what it does, great move pool, strong typing, and great synergistic ability. An eventual suspect test is justified though it...
One thing to point out is by quickbanning cinderace and later enacting a suspect test to unban it, you are decreasing the threshold for banning him from 60% of qualified voters to 50%. Since for the unban suspect test, 50% must vote to unban it for it to be unbanned, meaning only 50% would need...
Was mandibuzz with foul play and roost not a reliable counter to cinderace? I agree that cinderance and magerarna were overpowered, though got to wonder if urshifu will have to be banned next now, as it's also somewhat broken offensively though not as widely used. pex is also way too annoying...
Should cinderace's libero be suspected? Really hard to counter when you can go so fast and change your type. You can then STAB 4 different types and use those types to your advantage defensively. Seems like a broken mechanic that undermines the balance of pokemon battling.
Been super busy but played my first game in awhile. Mag is definitely OP. Incredible typing, bulky, great synergistic ability, insane movepool. It's defense and draining kiss allow you to stall and its special attack allow you to sweep, with the crazy stat boosts you can achieve followed by...
One thing about Magearna it is probably one of the most fun pokemon to play with. Using 200 BP attacks with stored power and OHKOing toxapex is very satisfying. Giving stored power to a pokemon that raises its special attack stat with every KO makes me think GF was trying to make an overpowered...
Tbf, I put in the wrong nature in the calculator. With Clefable's nature as bold, banded urshifu has only a 4% chance of two hit KOing clefable with poison jab.
Not sure what you mean. Bold is the single most common nature for clefable according to pikalytics...
I hear people saying Urshifu lacks hard counters but what about clefable with max defense and HP EVs and a calm (I mean bold) nature? OHKOs urshifu with moonblast and can survive two wicked blows. Poison jab will two hit KO but urshifu is usually banded. And if it's not you'll still most likely...
Just played a match where I allowed the opponent's volcarona to get in two quiver dances, and I thought I was going to get sweeped. Sent in cinderace after my dragapult was killed because he knows sucker punch. Didn't OHKO but because of libero my type changed to dark and was then immune to the...
What's a good counter for rain teams? Using an azumaril, cinderace, dragapult, magearna, mandibuzz (replaced my corviknight) and clefable. Dragapult and magneara know thunderbolt but the kingra and barraskewdas get so fast and do so much damage.
Just started playing but managed to get to the 1300 Elos with this team. Nothing too creative, just 6 strong pokemon with some attempt at balance. The team can be found here: https://pokepast.es/40f341dcc752df8a
Corviknight: Good to have a bulky pokemon to switch into. Protects me from obvious...
