  1. Pokémon Sableye

If he's smart he'll know to taunt those pokemon, and of course watch out for Foul Play on the switch if you're using Chandelure. Heatran is better at that also. You don't need the sun at all to OHKO his Sableye if he uses a max SpD set, just use Brave Bird and a Choice Band.
  2. Pokémon Sableye

    0- Atk Sableye Foul Play vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Talonflame: 165-195 (55.3 - 65.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO Nice. Predict the switch and get a 2HKO with proper physical defense investment. 252+ Atk Choice Band Talonflame Flare Blitz/Brave vs. 252 HP / 120 Def Sableye: 256-303 (84.2 - 99.6%) -- guaranteed...
  3. [QC Ready 2/3] Kangaskhan

Priority Recover would like a word with you. Sableye can burn Kanga and stall it to death with Recover.
  4. [QC Ready 2/3] Kangaskhan

I run Rocky Helmet on my defensive Skarm, and it helps, but you're right. Sableye has been the best counter by far and deserves a special mention in analysis. It can safely switch into the common Fake-Out or Power-Up Punch on Kanga's first turn, then burn it with priority and ruin Kanga. It...
  5. [QC Ready 2/3] Kangaskhan

Honestly only a nitpick, but Sableye doesn't get hit like the other Ghosts and can pretty safely switch in even if the Kanga has Crunch. From my experience Sableye and Skarmory are the two most reliable counters.
  6. Pokémon Sableye

Just wanted to pop in and say that if you're looking for a reliable counter to MGengar, MKanga, Aegislash, physical sweepers, many stall Pokemon and almost every lead, Sableye is your answer. The little troll is a monster this generation.
  7. Other Creative / Underrated Sets Thread (Read the thread, NO SHITTY GIMMICKS)

Oops, thanks for the corrections. But after trying the Mixed set and the standard Roost SD set for Talonflame, the SD set just works better. With the Mixed set, when you predict a switch to resistances or a physically bulky Poke, you use Overheat or HP Ice/Ground for a hopeful 2HKO. Problem is...
  8. Other Creative / Underrated Sets Thread (Read the thread, NO SHITTY GIMMICKS)

Thanks for running the calcs, and totally agreed about HP Ground being a far superior choice to HP Ice. And from my playtesting with Overheat on Talonflame, it is best used as you described. Overheat is just a good move on any mixed poke. Also a nitpick about HP Ice, Talonflame needs to go with...
  9. Other Creative / Underrated Sets Thread (Read the thread, NO SHITTY GIMMICKS)

Except HP Ice doesn't counter Skarmory, who can use Whirlwind and let you die to SR. And I predict a spike in Skarmory users thanks to Defog, so a way to counter a switch in to Skarmory is Overheat. HP Ice doesn't help if the Skarmory has a Chustap berry because it doesn't hit hard enough...
  10. Pokémon Galvantula

I still have not seen one good defog set. Every decent poke with access to it suffers from 4-move syndrome. Until that happens, I am not worried about defog.
  11. Pokémon Kangaskhan

I was thinking the same thing actually. After running some calcs though, you can get away with Calm and about 200 EVs invested in Defense.
  12. Pokémon Kangaskhan

Well sorry if you sensed negativity that wasn't there, I was only scrutinizing the calc because we're trying to find out if Sableye is really a reliable counter to Kenga. That's the only reason Sableye is the talk of the thread currently, we're looking for reliable counters. Also, the average...
  13. Pokémon Kangaskhan

Really, that's crappy damage unburned against Sableye and falls neatly into will-o-wisp+recover territory. Also recoil damage aids the burn stalling. It's only a 2HKO if you switch into a Scrappy Double-Edge and Will-o-wisp misses, and besides, who the poop carries Double-Edge over Return...
  14. Pokémon Kangaskhan

Oh man, I had almost forgotten. That powerful Foul Play is really useful on switch-ins though, but with the Knock Off buff, Sableye can wreck pretty much any stall team with will-o-wisp+recover. I loved using Sableye in BW, and it just gets better for the little devil. I have been testing him...
  15. Other Creative / Underrated Sets Thread (Read the thread, NO SHITTY GIMMICKS)

I was talking about the speed investment with Excadrill, not Overheat. Overheat also kills Rocky Helmet Ferrothorn while only having Life Orb recoil so the bird can continue a sweep. I don't feel like explaining specifics, but up against pokemon that are physically bulky like Donphan...
