I think updated teams with Gen IV-VI pokémon in the postgame wouldn't be amiss, for example Sydney could get I dunno a Krookodile or a Mega-Absol in his team, while Phoebe gets a Mismagius or something; I think it would be really cool.

Really? That is a shame. Personally I'm hopping we get Water/Dragon Ferraligatr, that way we'd have one different starter dragon for each gen and for each starter type; as for Typlosion I'd like to get a non-Fire/Fighting starter that isn't weak to SR, so I'm hopping it could become Fire/Ground.

It would be really interesting leaving Camerupt with a single weakness (curiously enough ground), two immunities and 5 resistances; pretty good. If this hypothetical m-evolution got a boost to it's defences (say 30 points to each one) it would become a decent wall. Wish I'd thought of this when...

That would be pretty cool and depending on how much they change the core story-line it might be actually possible. One of the best places I can think of would be just prior to entering the Cave of Origin, Steven could challenge you to see if you are strong enough or something like that.

Modest Manetric with full speed investment only reaches 369 which while good (outspeed up to max 118 base speed) doesn't allow to outspeed Greninja or Infernape which are the main things to outspeed in team 2 so far. The 70 IV points in HP also allows to avoid being OHKO by anything in team...

One thing to consider with M-Manetric is that he has such a good base speed that you don't really need to fully invest in it to outspeed everything in team 2, for example this spread hits 387 (after mega evolving) which out-speeds everything in the tier bar Max speed Meloetta (Pirouette forme)...

Nice theory, it makes quite a lot of sense actually; I hope that the Ancient Devolution items are the Blue/Red Orbs, I've always felt they weren't used to their full potential in the original games.
