If he had aerial ace or EQ > fly, in this particular battle, since I knew most of the moves he had.. A +4 Aerial Ace would do 85-100% against my Gyarados EV spread, so he'd definitely might be in trouble unless he was packing fly. EQ would prove even worse for him. Rock Slide is an option, but...

Does double status gengar even do well? It always struck me as a horrible use of gengar's abilities.. It's especially scary with guts and pursuit when he's leading.

I don't understand why you wouldn't use focus punch on that set. And those EVs are pretty bad for a Hariyama.. give it a few HP EVs to hit 432HP, then 173 Def, 219 sp. def, 352 atk with thick fat. Absolutely love it. Like Misty said, it's the best bliss counter in the game.

I used him in OU in ADV with tremendous success. No HP Flying everywhere is a plus as well, but he'll probably be BL as always.

Hariyama is one of the most ridiculously underrated pokemon of all time, at least I think so... I fell in love with him in ADV, but he's really a situational kinda guy that doesn't go well with just any team. The set I loved in DP was Substitute, Focus Punch, Rock Slide, Whirlwind @ Leftovers...

I really like this team.. I've been waiting to see someone use a medicham. Been considering using him myself. Got tons better in DP... You might run into gyarados problems. Your best bet is to let someone die and try to get him unexpectedly with a thunderpunch from medicham... As bad as that...
