    Pokémon Champions - releasing April 8, 2026

I wanted to illustrate more thoroughly and clearly how absurd Mega-Scovillain is in 6v6 singles, so I’ve drafted a bunch of examples. I’ve limited myself to physical non-mega mons, but I might do the same for some walls/tanks and all physical Mega because this has been quite fun. Rough matchup...

When I said that there's few physical mon who can come close OHKOing it without setup, what I meant by "coming close to OHKO" is the 75% threshold; And even those mon get totally screwed if M-Scovillain comes on the wrong move. It is easy to get 2 burns even with rocks in the equation.

I've been running calcs and, I cannot emphasize this enough, 252HP/252+Def Mega-Scovillain is an extremely messed up mon in 6v6 singles. Most physical mon don't fare much better than M-Metagross. On the physical side there's barely anything that can OHKO it without being +2, and those that come...

M-Skarm, by virtue of regular Skarm, can do something M-Metragross can't. It can use SD and Weak Armor before mega evolving to put a physical mon in a lose-lose situation. Either they try to take a chunk of your HP but give you speed go with your SD, setting you up for a sweep, or they have to...

    Pokémon Champions - releasing April 8, 2026

The Mega Evolution issue is something I'm aware of and I've already mentioned. Even though someone else has mentioned a work around in protect, I think it's pretty abusable. As for the bulk, it is bad, but it can still live 2-3 hits with investements. And it's a lot more against ubiquitous moves...

    Pokémon Champions - releasing April 8, 2026

I might have to take my evaluation of Scovillain for singles down a peg. I kinda forgot about hazards, you know stuff like stealth rock that might be a tad relevant for a fire type that can't have boots and want to switch in all the time. On the other hand, I don't think anyone has mentioned...

    Pokémon Champions - releasing April 8, 2026

I don't think Scovillain has the bulk to stay on the field long enough for leech seed, nor wants to. As I mentioned, I think it is at its most dangerous when you can switch it in to punish stuff. I just realised that the way it was worded it doesn't seem to need contact. Shit is busted, it...

    Pokémon Champions - releasing April 8, 2026

M-Scovillain doesn't even need to deal with the higher powered moves; it can easily punish common stuff like u-turn/flip turn, knock off, and rapid spin. Multi-hit move that make contact are also way easier to tank. Same with many priority move. Want to pick of a KO with priority? You now have...

I really struggle to see what M-Excadrill niche compared to Urshifu is; even assuming unseen fist has been nerfed to be the same as as Piercing drill. At similar investement/nature, Urshifu's surging strike/wicked blow hit almost as hard as M-Drill's earthquake. In double this is even less to...

    Pokémon Champions - releasing April 8, 2026

Beast boost/protosynthesis/quark drive are based on the biggest final stat; removing IVs means taking away the ability to even further reduce a stat to allow another to be boosted. (Edit: Being based on the final stat means there can be big opportunity costs to running certain boosts, which...

Metagame [SPOILERS] Scarlet & Violet OU Discussion [BAN LIST POST 626]

Playing devil's advocate here for a tiny bit here, but despite many people asking the question, I haven't seen confirmation of if Shed tail is a 50% or 25% Sub in-game. Which mean the 50% Sub could be poor implementation on Showdown's part. 50% or 25% is the difference between a free setup or...

Metagame [SPOILERS] Scarlet & Violet OU Discussion [BAN LIST POST 626]

I am not aware of any similar move. The Slowkings are litteraly the only ones that have that move. It's supposedly a reference to an old pokemon movie (which explain the exclusivity). Edit: description of the move " The user tells a chillingly bad joke before switching places with a party...

Metagame [SPOILERS] Scarlet & Violet OU Discussion [BAN LIST POST 626]

Slowking and Galarian-Slowking both got the move "Chilly reception". That move setup snowstorm and switches out the user. Slowbro and Galarian-Slowbro do not get that move.

Metagame [SPOILERS] Scarlet & Violet OU Discussion [BAN LIST POST 626]

Yeah, I missed CM. I kinda just looked for nasty plot, didn't saw it, and thought Flutter Mane didn't have setup. My bad.

Metagame [SPOILERS] Scarlet & Violet OU Discussion [BAN LIST POST 626]

Back then I did hear quite of a lot of people voicing concerns at the idea of banning the generational mechanic, but Dynamax was so broken that they had to concede. I'm not arguing in favor of Dynamax at all, but treating Tera the same way might not be a wise idea. Forgiving me if I'm wrong, but...
