Actually, just touch the screen then it will update. It has always worked for me.

I don't know if anybody else found out about this but here it is anyway. After getting the National Dex, go talk to Bebe. She's in Hearthome City in the house right next to the pokemon center. She will then give you a level 5 Eevee. I got one with these stats: EEVEE Impish nature HP 21...
