Acupressure and Psych Up go right through Protect. There's a Doubles team in the PBR single-player mode that capitalizes on this. One Pokémon Belly Drums. The next turn, when you try to finish off the weakened thing, it Protects and its partner Psych Ups the Attack boosts.
