SS NU SS Singles NU Trick Room Offense

I've always been a fan of TR teams and imo the presence of many slow hard hitters in the meta (Escavalier, Druddigon, Machamp, Copperajah, Arctovish, etc.) coupled with a variety of excellent TR users that aren't ghost/psychic types e.g. Diancie addresses a major limitation of TR teams being...

ORAS OU The Elephant in the Room - MTTar Balance, PEAKED #1, 1936 Elo

Great team -- Donphan makes for a nice change from all the tankchomps, lando-t, and hippowdowns so commonly seen. Also love all those GoT references in your team!

Resource ORAS OU Viability Ranking Thread V4

All of those threats save for Heatran & arguably Gliscor also manhandles M-Venusaur, a 'mon that takes up a mega slot and is currently A rank. Amoonguss can also handle SubCM Raikou to a degree as uninvested Sludge Bomb is enough to remove Subs and Raikou 4HKOs with HP Ice. And unlike...

Amoonguss B- --> B Making a new nomination - Amooguss has always been a viable defensive Pokemon in OU, and it's high time she goes up. To quote, "Amoonguss is so reliable at stopping a lot of dangerous threats without investing in a M-Venu", not to mention the rising usage of electric types...

Resource RU Viability Ranking: ORAS Edition

Gonna edit this with more detail, but nominating Pinsir for B rank. It can run sets such as SD/Scarfed/Band quite effectively, thanks to his access to a great physical move pool, priority and good physical bulk. It's decent speed and an ability in Moxie allows him to clean up teams/revenge kill...

    VGC 2015 Viability Rankings - Mark 2

Going to second this. Scott Cornman for one, used such a pairing during the VGC '15 Florida Regional Championships and placed 11th in the Masters Division. Also been seeing some more usage of it on the ladder and Battle Spot, so it should definitely be worthy of a spot in the rankings. I...

    VGC 2015 Viability Rankings - Mark 2

Mega-Tyranitar is used for it's sweeping capabilities through Dragon Dance. It's one of 5 Dragon Dancers that are not uncommonly seen in the standard format right now, and it can perform it's job reasonably well, thanks to it's massive bulk and excellent offensive stats. That said, it does have...

Funnily enough, AV Heatran was a serious topic of discussion amongst possible users of Assault Vest during the dawn of XY. It has a niche, partially also due to it being very unexpected and uncommon.

    Other ORAS Metagame Discussion

Massive nitpicking here lol, but give it a 0 Attack IV to maximize Foul Play damage and minimize Confusion damage. Other than that it's a great set!

    Other ORAS Metagame Discussion

Eh it doesn't always need HP Ground nor Giga Drain. It's defensive set can set up on a lot of bulky waters, and Heatran can't really do anything to it unless it has Ancient Power/Stone Edge. Rotom-W is set up bait, provided Rocks aren't up and he doesn't get a crit as Volcarona can easily take a...

I think you should optimize the EV spread by adding 24 EVs to Speed and give it a Timid nature, this way you outspeed max speed base 70s such as Bisharp/Breloom and even Honchkrow which is base 71.

M-Gallade is checked/countered by a variety of Pokemon in OU such as defensive Gyarados and Talonflame, thus preventing it to unleash it's full power in the tier. This set aims to eliminate it's checks/counters, whilst still being very effective and capable of performing it's job like most...

    Pokémon Cobalion

Just nitpicking but in the defensive support set, you mentioned 248 EVs into HP gave it a Leftovers number. That is not the case -- 248 EVs give it a Stealth Rocks number. And what about a standard SD/double dance set? It can actually find set up opportunities amongst several Pokemon in OU, not...

Metagame np: Stage 4 - Celebration (Feraligatr Banned)

Vibrava has a viable niche in the current meta game -- it checks a variety of the newly arrived threats, just as how Mandibuzz and Quagsire rose in usage during the Aegislash & Baton Pass days in OU. Of course should Heliolisk and Camerupt get banned; Vibrava, like Quagsire and Mandibuzz will...

Metagame np: Stage 4 - Celebration (Feraligatr Banned)

I heard several people mention how the Helio M-Camerupt core can easily break down walls. What about Vibrava? It hard checks Camerupt w/o HP Ice, 252/0 set takes 80% damage at most from Heliolisk's Hyper Voice, and can easily OHKO with Earthquake. Also Heliolisk can't just Volt Switch on it...
