I've been playing Pokémon since fifth grade, FireRed it was, and I still remember the day I first saw what Dragonair's evolution was

, during the battle with Lance. Him and his "outrageous" Dragonite was what made me love the Dragon type, as Dragonite's features, such as it's lovely draconic appearance, awesome dragony tail, and huge striped underbelly (all the qualities I love in dragons) was on it. Ugh, I still remember that day with the beautiful dragon… uh, where was I? Oh, right! I've been playing Pokémon for quite a long time, but I became competitive (well… the first glimpse of my competitive side) when I noticed how high the stats were on the Battle Factory Rental Pokémon back in Platinum, which was before I knew about EV training and long before I knew in concrete what IV's were. I learned the EV training process around seventh grade, which was when I was into the Battle Factory, and I remembered glorifying my Lv. 100 Slaking with 458 Attack, saying how lucky it was

. I even learned my first seemingly competitive strategies from these Battle Factory Pokémon, especially the Curse Lapras one ;), where I also learned about Egg Moves, which was probably before I became a novice at competitive battling. So, after hatching and EV training some Pokémon with the right natures and all during the summer vacation at México after seventh grade, I eventually grew bored of playing Pokémon and just abandones it. It was that way until the beginning of ninth grade, where I kept thinking of playing Pokémon again and so I picked up my brother's old FireRed version. Then around this time, my friend bought me my favorite Pokémon game of all time, Pokémon White, for I can grind my hands on it. This was the most memorable and nostalgic game for me, because of everything that was in it. It was also where I started playing seriously competitive. I became a competitive battler, now knowing all the IV stuff, five months after I got the game. A year and a half later, I win my first tournament, a friend-made one, winning Y version (on its release day), and as of today, I still play this game competitively. I thank Lance for showing me the "secret Dragonair evolution," Thorton for getting me use his rentalmons, and my friend, ZuezMZ, for buying me Pokémon White Version for my birthday.
About me, I am a student at Palm Desert who goes by Giix. I work as a waiter at a restaurant and I am an artsie type of person. I have a passion for writing, drawing (I did not draw that Hydreigon userpic), music, and everything else! I am of Mexican descent but look White XD. My name, Giix, is a secret

. And at last, although I made my account here at Smogon University, I only did it just to give my opinions on Pokémon and because I play Pokémon Showdown. I have five different usernames, but I mostly use Andatti-Yo and Fuk My Internet. The only time I'll play by Smogon rules is when battling in OU or Uber only on Showdown. I do not follow Smogon outside of Pokémon Showdown and I refrain from copying Smogon sets; I do my best to make my own sets. Well, yeah, that's me and if you need anything, just ask

. I'll be happy to help
