Honestly i think Weavile should be added somewhere, probably B. Its a fast Ice type which is always nice, gets priority Ice Shard, and a fast Taunt. Dark is also usefull with all the Ghosts running around. Does have a lot of weaknesses though, like Steel types (Celesteela), the Tapus and faces...

Could be that Hippo takes priority attacks (hi Gale Wings) that Alakazam really does not appreciate, and SR/Sandstorm helps break opposing sashes so Kazam does not need to worry about those. And Physical scafers w/out SE moves often fail to bypass Hippo's huge bulk (or DD pokes).

Both are equally viable: Flamethrower/Fire blast takes care of Ferrothorn, while Earth Power is primarily for Heatran. So mostly it comes down to preference, but tbh having a Fire type move has come more in handy over the years since its much easier to get Earth type users but harder to get Fire...
