Haha, Yeah... the difference between 0hp/0def and 31hp/31def can be anywhere between a 10-20% difference; or even higher, depending on base stat. Ev's are really, really important too... I know that Terrakion with life orb can still miss some important KO's if it's not at full attack...

TBH That isn't really true... The only time something like that happened was when he had a Hippowdon which only offensive moves were toxic and earthquake, so he earthquaked for the heck of it. (I still won anyway, but thats not the point)

Also, the one misconception with Gimmick sets is both in the users and in the views of others. For example, Iron defense Scizor can successfully counter pokemon it would have trouble with otherwise, but it does so at the cost of now no longer being able to be able to counter many other pokemon.
