I'd imagine worse, since I assume there's no way to see the IVs without catching one and you have to wait to build a chain. Do you still have to get the number of Pokémon in a battle down to one to catch it?

Just to expand on what was said a while back; if this is indeed true, this should make finding stat ranges stupidly easy if any Kalos Pokémon are obtainable this way.
