Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
It might even have been a good idea to just move every tier down one step back when the wave went from UU -> RU. It would still have a lot of shifts, but both ways, and most of it pretty quickly.
Its newly gained access to Protect and Rest got a lot of people to experiment with it. It will still make its way down there, it just got off to a Slow Start. :psysly:
On day 1 the impact of the new Pokemon will be mostly just felt in OU. Aside from that there is mostly just Scyther and Tangela in PU, and Magneton in UU. I'm expecting Scyther to get banned from PU and see use higher up.
But the impact of the new moves will hit all over immediately. The ones...
Keep in mind about the DLC that this far down the tiers, there will be 4 months before any new Pokemon make it down here. So for the foreseeable future, the only DLC that is actually gonna affect us is new moveset additions. It will probably only cause some small shifts, until the real impact...
I'm hesitant to support removing the setters one way or another. Banning the setters effectively means getting rid of the whole archetype. Which i get is the whole point of targeting them, but i feel that's a very drastic measure to take for what may boil down to only two broken abusers. Getting...
We basically have to treat all 3; Home, DLC 1, and DLC 2, like we would a 3rd version release. But it will be wild, as these are bigger shakeups, and instead of a year we only get a few months between each.
On top of the stuff that comes in with the DLC, OU will probably be dumping a whole bunch...
I disagree with the notion that unbanning Moody was a mistake. The clearest reason it was banned in the first place, the evasion boost, was removed. So obviously it should be up for reevaluation.
That is not to say that i think it shouldn't be banned again, I'm currently neutral on that topic...
My big problem with the "ban Dynamax, keep Gigantimax" proposal is that it ends up wrapping teambuilding all around a handful of pokemon that get access to this powerful tool that you would be stupid not to make use of. That is what Mega evolution did, especially in X/Y where there weren't that...
As soon as people mentioned old items, i just knew this old thing would still be in: This dates all the way back to in-development DP. In the final game Cyrus is the only one to hold this, so the item remained unused, to this day. :mehowth:
So i made a program to parse the dump for BST changes, and this was the only result it spat out :psygrump:
It only checks one entry pr pokemon, Sword Form is also changed.
