If I'm lucky enough to capture a wild Shiny, would I still be able to calculate what my SID is like in Gen IV? Btw, I think I remember reading somewhere that IDs with multiple digits have a higher chance of encountering Shinies (mine is 15551). Is there any truth to this?

When you say "the time...you started the game from the DS menu when you first started your game save," do you mean the very first time I ever saved my game? Is it too late for me to find out what my SID is since I have progressed quite a bit into the game? I don't quite understand, sorry.
