I just did a cloning of haunter and i didn't make a trade. Somehow, it evolved when I took it out (a successful clone too). I wonder under what conditions cloning actually allows something to evolve....

That's really interesting.. because right now, I'm cloning Haunters and when I take them out of the GTS (not even trading at all), they don't evolve.

Well, you put the pokemon you want to evolve up for trade. In the case of gligar, doesn't that evolve by level up at night? This only works for pokemon that evolve through trading. 1) Put the pokemon (that evolves by trading) up for trade - make sure you put up some kind of impossible trade...

Complete any trade on the GTS. So basically, you search for offers and actually complete a trade that way. I've also done this a few times.
