I just got the rom, very amazing work on this game so far. And I checked on Marriland's HGSS Pokedex, and apparently Typhlosion does learn Thunderpunch through a move tutor. That's a relief! I plan to solo this game using Typhlosion, Graveler (no flash cart yet to trade evo :( ) and...someone...
