  1. Apprentice Program - Round Twenty Seven

Assigned to Yagami Light Shoddy Battle nick: APurpleCow Age: 15 Time zone: EST, GMT -5 Regular Online Hours (Eastern only!): 2PM - 10PM Experience level: Very low. I've just started playing Pokemon competitively a week ago. A little about myself: I'm an RTS player at heart and was the top...
  2. Rate my Offensive Team (Shoddy / Wi-Fi)

I prefer Sub/DD Tyranitar with Leftovers over CBTar as a lead. If your opponent switches out and you get a free DD, you can OHKO just about every pokemon. I don't like BlissSkarm on this team. They're too defensive for it. Replace them with utility attackers, like Hitmontop and Dugtrio.
  3. Hah, my old team for rating.

With a nature that doesn't reduce SpAtk, a Life Orb'd Fire Blast deals 98.2%-115.57% damage to a Skarmory. With 16 SpAtk EVs, it will kill a Skarmory.
  4. My second team, and my first using Wobbuffet

I assure you, I didn't copy Aldaron's team. I just looked it up and there are a lot of pokemon we share, true. However, the builds are all common. So many teams has been made, it's almost impossible for your build not to resemble another.
  5. My second team, and my first using Wobbuffet

So far this team is 5-0 on Shoddy. Roserade (M) @ Leftovers Ability: Natural Cure EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Leaf Storm - Sleep Powder - Toxic Spikes - Hidden Power [Fire] An awesome lead in my opinion. Grass/Fire is Super Effective against more than half of the top...
  6. Team I made in school today! It seems like it would work!

I'll admit it, there's not much. Now my question to you is, what is Extreme Speed better than Bullet Punch against? The point is, you don't have to switch out. It's an easy kill. If the enemy gets lucky and predicts your Crunch, your Lucario could very easily end up dead very soon.
  7. Team I made in school today! It seems like it would work!

See, this probably comes from you not using Bullet Punch. With it, you can stay in and kill Weavile if he's even a little weak, and Gengar's dead if you have an SD under your belt. Weavile and Gengar are pokemon that are used all the time, and Gengar's an extremely common switch in, a switch in...
  8. RMT: Am I crazy to use UUs in OU?

Your name suits what you are doing right now quite well TC. I am utterly amazed at this foolery. How could it not be seen by you? ...Where's Hitmontop?
  9. Team I made in school today! It seems like it would work!

Weavile is 2x weak to Steel and 4x weak to Fighting. It's not guaranteed without Stealth Rocks, but it will deal around 90% damage at least.
  10. Team I made in school today! It seems like it would work!

Extreme Speed would not OHKO Weavile without a good amount of prior damage. It doesn't matter how many more pokemon extreme speed will do more damage against than bullet punch will. What matters is what move would be better against pokemon that you need a priority move for, and bullet punch...
  11. An unforeseen terror

MixedMence and SpecsMence will kill Steelix np. Garchomp will be stalled for a little bit against Steelix, but he'll break through and likely get a SD in the process. If he has a Salac Berry, just call it gg right there. Not against ghost types. Also, why do you have Leftovers on Hitmontop...
  12. Team I made in school today! It seems like it would work!

In my experience, while Extreme Speed is blocked by what Crunch and CC kill, Bullet Punch is good against what you need a priority move for. Two examples off the top of my head: Gengar and Weavile. An SD'd Bullet Punch has a very good chance of one hitting Gengar, and with Stealth Rocks it's...
  13. Team I made in school today! It seems like it would work!

Bullet Punch>Extreme Speed on Lucario. It gets STAB, so the difference in power is much smaller than what it would normally be.
  14. An unforeseen terror

Agreed. Swordmaster, you should definitely use Lum Berry instead. I didn't think it was a UU/BL team, I thought this was just what swordmaster thought was best and what he liked most. I still say Swampert would be awesome. He may not be able to tank physical hits quite as well as Steelix, but...
  15. An unforeseen terror

Looks like a pretty good team, but I'm not sure how it will compete against OU teams. You have no counter to Salamence and Garchomp, two of the most overused pokemon...ever. I really, really don't like Steelix. He has a lot of weaknesses, and they're all pretty common. What do you think about...
