    Pokémon Hydreigon

Hydreigon is better as Specs or LO imo. Hydreigon's awkward speed tier should be taken advantage of by using slower threats as pivot targets and threatening to put dents into teams, which the scarf set can't do as easily. Hydreigon's slight 4mss issue is also made worse by a scarf since it lacks...

Regarding Pinsir, I don't see how he is any exception to the rule of "pick yor poison." The only reason Pinsir chooses Aegislash over Rotom-wash is popularity. Rotom threatens Pinsir just as much as Aegis, so it is truly up to the player to decide the counter. Pinsir is still a bad example...

You could also say Skarmory makes a lot of things unviable and forces physical sweepers into confined sets. A lot of centralization arguments about Aegislash can be applied to Skarmory or Mega Venusaur.

    Hydreigon [QC 0/3]

It's nicer than critdra cus of better speed, bulk, base SpA, and amazing movepool. The crit set would be hilarious against stall because crit meteors and superpowers would dismantle most cores.

Woops, I think I saw an old prediction of Volc's stat and then confused it with Hoopa as well. Very sorry about that.

I will repeat my point that Pinsir and Terrakion's preferred coverage is walled by the mere fact that Aegis has Steel/Ghost typing is a poor reason for overcentralization. Dragonite also runs EQ for Heatran, not just Aegislash. I'm not familiar with Mega Tyranitar but choice and support sets...

Volcanion has like 150 while Heatran has 135. Volcanion is quite a bit slower to compensate.

Volcanion has that sky-high SpA stat even by current standards, while Heatran's stat was very high but not unique. They seem to make extreme stats a trend for event legends like Deoxys while high but unremarkable ones for normal legends like Heatran and Latis (Exception is obviously the Regis).

lol I didn't even know the Regis existed and I managed to solve the braille puzzles without guides/internet 8 years ago (I was in 4th grade btw). Sure I had a dictionary that happened to have a braille entry, but you don't have to be a genius to solve it, especially when they have a translator...

    1. Greninja's Hydro pump. 2hkos Aegislash just like Dark pulse, which isn't run for this reason. Edit: Woops, I got misinformation from the Greninja thread that Hydro Pump 2hkos Aegislash and have no access to calculators currently to confirm. Dark Pulse is still a nice spam move but I guess...

I've seen so many posts claiming Aegislash is overcentralizing, but none of them seem to give sufficient justification. Can someone give at least 5 offensive Pokemon that unjustifiably sacrifice coverage for Aegis or defensive Pokemon that must run suboptimal sets to deal with Aegis?

Hax does matter in many cases *coughIceBeam* if we define counter as strictly as you do. Most people ignore crits and 10% nonsense, and some counters require a certain amount of health to work.

Aegislash not having counters is not a valid argument by itself (I do not count SpD Gliscor because that set is suboptimal). There were plenty of uncounterable or nearly uncounterable wallbreakers last Gen and none of these were problems. The real issue is that Aegislash distinguishes from these...
