  1. Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver - The Offical Competitive Discussion Thread

Arcanine got Morning Sun as well I see. Interesting for the bulky options, but unlikely to change much assuming T-Tar hasn't gone anywhere. I really need to catch up on the meta. I've been out for nearly a year.

Jolteon? or are you just trying to nod that way quietly?
  3. Finding Suspects Within the Current D/P Metagame (Discussion Thread)

I'd still love to see the game without T-Tar personally. Negating every non-Recover healing move in the game, not to mention Leftovers, while simultaneously setting up damage, boosting your Sp.Def, as well as ruining setups involving weather, all at the cost of switching in one of the most...
  4. Pokemon Platinum - The definitive thread: Mach 3 (Competitive Discussion)

I sincerely doubt the different Rotom forms would be considered different Pokemon. They're exactly the same except for one specific move they know. They're less different than having a SpecsMence and DDMence on the same team.

Gimmicky, but I wonder if Dusknoir could pull of Spiritomb's PP wasting trick now that it gets Spite: Dusknoir: Mean Look/Spite/Sleep Talk/Rest? Meh, probably not, but it could be fun.

The more I think about it, the more sad I am that Psychics and Ghosts keep getting singled out to paralyzed with perfect counters. Already they can't switch out without being killed by Pursuit. Now they can't attack without being killed by Sucker Punch. Next they'll add a "Dark Field" power...

Up until just this moment; I largely assumed that Rock resisted Bug >.<
  8. Pokemon Platinum - The definitive thread: Mach 3 (Competitive Discussion)

I'm generally under the impression that Gamefreak/Nintendo thinks Tyranitar is too hard to catch to be used and Sunny Day makes Fire types absurdly powerful. My secret wish is that in Gen 5 they'll somehow give Arcanine Drought.

*pout* Oh well, at least Iron Head is a pretty decent addition. Beats Iron Tail at the very least.
  10. Pokemon Platinum - The definitive thread: Mach 3 (Competitive Discussion)

Depends on the situation I suppose. Scizor's going to lean heavily on Bullet Punch no matter what, so really your 4th attack is to take out anything Bullet Punch can't handle. I suppose it really just depends on whether or not Brick Break can handle the situation. Otherwise it might mean the...

That pretty much settles the 4th move with Bullet Seed, eh? I suppose it depends on how well Brick Break does after a Swords Dance though. Don't want to drag your stats down after working so hard to boost them up after all.

I'd love to know Arcanine and Espeon. Thanks for all the hard work! :)

Gengar doesn't resist Bullet Punch, so it wasn't part of my comparison. Even if he had a Steel resist, Bullet Punch would still do more damage against Gengar than X-Scissor, and obviously, QA and Brick Break. EDIT: Because it just occurred to me that not all of the conversation had carried so...
  14. Pokemon Platinum - The definitive thread: Mach 3 (Competitive Discussion)

Just going off the Base Power of the moves out of the OU Pokemon who resist Bullet Punch: Quick Attack deals twice the damage of X-Scissor: Infernape Quick Attack and X-Scissor do the same damage: Gyarados Heatran Lucario Skarmory Tentacruel Zapdos X-Scissor...
