What I want answered simply is how does an elimination occur in the double elimination format?

So basically a player won’t be eliminated from a double elimination tournament unless they consecutively lose two rounds in a row (or 4 times in a Bo3 match format to a combination of two opponents)? So this also implies that the winners bracket finalist is heavily favored to win the tournament...

For tournaments can someone explain the Winners vs Losers brackets, as well as the Bye concept?

Typo in the OP: Tournament Rules General tournament rules and regulations are in effect and can be found here. This is a standard Gen 5 OU Tournament. This tournament will be double elimination, all rounds will be Bo3. You may switch teams in between battles of the same set. isn't it Gen 4 OU?
