The Griseous Orb returns to your bag, it doesn't simply disappear. Also, only Giratina can hold Griseous Orb, unlike other hold items, in Platinum, so I'm sure they kept it the same in HG/SS.

Not necessarily, Platinum has Griseous Orb which wasn't in Diamond/Pearl. Still, I don't think there are any new hold items, just saying it is possible.

Froslass already has Ice Beam and Blizzard (which is 100% accurate in Hail) anyway.

Maybe, maybe not. Claire's Kingdra was already 9 levels higher than Pryce's Piloswine in the originals. Also, I kind of hope Pryce's Piloswine evolved, but based on how neither of Jasmine's Magnemites evolved, I doubt it. Guess we'll find out soon. Also I bet shiny Pokemon will use a shiny...

Whitney probably got downgraded because of Thick Fat (I doubt they gave Miltank Scrappy). I sure hope the rest of the Gym Leaders and the Elite 4 get upgraded levels, Pryce's Piloswine was a lower level than Jasmine's Steelix before, which doesn't make any sense.
