Is there an easy way to implement an AI in Shoddy? There's a "BattleBot" on one server, i think. Are there hooks from which a separate AI program can be called?

It might be nice to give a non-windows version. It's not like it's difficult to modify manually so that it works, but it would be kind for those who don't have programming experience.

There is one thing I don't really understand in this topic. Why, exactly, are bans being considered a bad thing? Various people are arguing that all other things being equal, a metagame with less bans is superior to a metagame with more bans. This does not seem trivially obvious, though.

Why would I use a UU Pokemon? I would only use a Pokemon on the UU list because I suspect it is underrated, and actually deserves a BL spot in the current metagame. If I used a UU Pokemon that I thought was rightly placed, I would be purposefully using a Pokemon weaker than those I'm facing...

Ah, but the strength of various NFEs has a direct impact on that argument. If the idea of "OU-lite" is, in fact, irrelevant (as the most prominent OUs have preevos that are either too strong or too weak for the UU metagame), this is an easy decision. Who would care if, say, Machoke was used...

IMO, NFEs should be treated just the same as any other Pokemon in UU. A Pokemon like Chansey or Kadabra may be banned, but it would be because they're BL, not because they happen to evolve into Blissey or Alakazam. It's not as if there is a big population of NFEs just waiting to rush into UU...

Augh! I half-remembered Crobat having Hypnosis, but looked it up on Veekun, didn't see it, and thus forgot about it. Oops. Still, it's the second-fastest sleep in OU, and Crobat seems to have even less going for it other than Hypnosis than Persian does.

If you're talking about quick status, it's foolish not to mention Persian, who boasts the fastest OU sleep in the game and Technician'd fake-out. Of course, that's pretty much all it boasts, but if your intentions are to sleep something and leave, it's better than anyone else at that.
