Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Thanks. That's what I was suspecting (especially after dragging a friend in to test other HPs as well as Iron Tail). Odd, though. I remember testing Ion Deluge to with a Lightning Rod Zebstrika and Hidden Power acted as it normally would. Although, I do have to say that the way Showdown displays...
No clue if this is a bug, but Conversion fails when the first move is Hidden Power Steel. Has this been tested properly? Here's a replay (skip to turn 34): https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7pokebankou-503606536
I just don't see how you can argue that it's any worse than the other status moves out there. At least you have a chance of screwing over the person using Swagger. If someone faster uses Thunder Wave on you, you're crippled for the rest of the fight in more ways than one unless you switch a...
Maybe if you couldn't be bothered to make intelligent decisions when facing it. I don't know that this thread is appropriate for this discussion, though.
Thank you for Anything Goes tier. I can finally use my Umbreon again (I still don't get why it was decided to ban Swagger instead of the actual problem that just had Swagger as one of its components).
No, it really doesn't say much at all. Before Xerneas became a thing, I (not a good player) did really well in Ubers with my RU team. Some of these people don't even remember to give EVs to their Pokemon, and I've actually seen someone who gave their Arceus an Armor Fossil as its held item...
Do it in OU next. Unless you have a decent ranking in Ubers already, having replays for Ubers is an awful example. I don't mean any offense to people who play Ubers, but it definitely has the highest percentage of players who don't actually know what they're doing and just want to use Pokemon...
Swagsire for one. Use Swagger and enjoy your immunity to their attack boost with Unaware. I've also seen people use Swagger + Psych Up (admittedly kind of a silly one, but it's out there). Swagger is great to use on anything that's setting up, especially if they're trying to pass boosts. It's a...
So your answer is to ban Swagger when it alone isn't even the issue, totally shutting down completely unrelated strategies that non-Prankster Pokemon use? That's lovely.
Please don't ban SwagPlay. I use it a physically defensive Umbreon with Wish, Leftovers, and Protect. I also have Unaware Quagsire as backup in case it backfires on me. The confusion damage is nice, but boosted STAB Foul Play is the main event. Maybe that still counts as luck-based, I don't...
