I'm pretty sure this isn't true. From my understanding and calculations, it's 252 HP/220 Def/36 SpDef Impish. No real point in maxing out defense when that already is enough to take the strongest attacks.

The point of Rotom-A on the team was because it is the only Rotom Form which is unaffected by the team'a Mega Gyarados Earthquakes. This allowed it to provide WoW support alongside Gyarados safely, which other forms can't do thanks to mold breaker.
