I think that there already might be a format for that, though I don't know for sure.

I feel this, I also feel that you could also sort the items based on what they do, ex: HP restoring, Condition Protection, etc. But maybe the best idea is a filter to sort them out like this. Like put the filter button where it is highlighted:

When you do use "modern sprites for past generations" you have to have battle animations on for it to work, I would like if we could have current animations for Pokémon without having to see battle animations.
