You might be surprised at what quagsire has to offer, not many things can KO him without a grass move. He also has water absorb, and that furthers his tankish abilities, plus he has instant recovery. Yes, gyrarados with roar in the lead spot is really.... ineffective, but I ALWAYS use him later...
