    Pokémon Araquanid

It's a shame there's no OU analysis being written for this guy. Guess the Powers That Be on Smogon don't think it will be relevant in OU? Surely likely to be beastly in whatever tier it ends up in though?

    Move Sticky Web

It's fortunate that Galvantula is fast enough that he has a chance, if he switches into the right thing, that he can outspeed and thus get the web up. Obviously he's even more certain to die that way than as a lead, since any opponent who isn't profoundly stupid almost certainly will have...

    XY Smogcast #1

What are the implications of the rebalancing to the existing types? A lot of Pokemon that have Poison as a secondary STAB didn't use it because it was redundant or worthless - will this now change? Drapion is a good example of this, as its access to powerful Poison moves like Poison Jab counter...

    Move Sticky Web

You sure? STAB Bug Buzz is still going to hurt a lot, even hitting neutrally. It learns it via the move tutor at level 1 (well, as soon as it evolves really, since Joltik doesn't get it), or at level 65.

    Move Sticky Web

It will be interesting to see what OU-capable teams that do revolve around Sticky Web emerge. Galvantula being my favourite Pokemon aesthetically (as if the avatar wasn't a clue) makes me like the idea of being able to do this even if it is slightly gimmicky. One downside to using Galvantula as...

    Move Sticky Web

It can get Sticky Web as soon as it evolves via the Move Relearner. What I've discovered however is that it also gets the move naturally by level up at 65. I wasn't aware that moves were normally accessible from the Move Relearner before they get them by level up.

    Other Most Improved Pokemon

Galvantula is definitely up there thanks to an amazing new move with rubbish distribution except for it. Scolipede is even better, sporting one of the best abilities in the game and a base stat boost. Pinsir should have gained a regular evo, but his Mega may finally make him usable too.

    Galvantula

Galvantula gets Sticky Web at level 1 from the move relearner - but it also gets it again by level up at level 65. Picture attached proves that it learns it from level up (screenshot is of a battle in progress) though I can't prove the level as it doesn't show the level at the time. It is 65...

    Move Sticky Web

Guys, I just discovered that Galvantula learns Sticky Web by level up at 65. Attached screenshot shows that it learns it by level up, I couldn't get one of the level that would prove it was only then. This suggests that Joltik actually does get the move, albeit it presumably at a ridiculously...

    Drapion

I've just discovered that Drapion gets a new Bug move at level 53 - Fell Stinger. Physical, 30BP, 25PP, sharply increases attack when the move is used to kill something. Picture attached as evidence. http://i.imgur.com/YnYeq1U.jpg

    Archeops (Analysis)

So you treat it as a glass cannon. Not all that many Pokes can boast a 165 BP STAB off a 140 attack, and with other powerful moves like Earthquake and Rockslide (while being immune to the former itself) Archeops is definitely usable. That it won't survive the whole battle is irrelevant, if that...

    Gavantula

Compound eyes, definitely. Mostly removing the accuracy problem of Thunder is a definite boon here. This thing is absolutely ripping apart everything in sight in the main game by the way, easily the best thing on my team for now, even despite its frailty. I'll certainly be using it rather often...

    Luxray

Luxray is also weak to SR.

    Galvantula (Analysis)

I think this is a reference to Hidden Power being based on IVs, which are hard to get specific values for when doing normal play/breeding. If I'm being an idiot and there's an easier way than insane amounts of grinding/trial and error to get the IVs for a specific HP in non-emulated play I'm not...

Most Underated Pokemon in 4th Gen

Sniper Drapion, definitely. Great coverage, and few weaknesses (granted, one of them is the omnipresent Earthquake). A sniper-boosted Night Slash mauls Psychics, and the fire-types trying to counter it don't appreciate a x 3 critical Earthquake in reply. Ice Fang and Cross Poison complete the...
