I may be mathfailing hard, but could you make a function of Y that calculates the maximum of the Z(X) curve at a given Y-value? Because the maximum of THAT function would give the values of the ideal EV distribution. Problem is, it might contain negatives...

Anyway, I'm starting another topic specifically to discuss the formula AND avoid what Colin disliked about the first thread.

I thought your Specific Damage thread was pretty cool, even if Colin was a bit dismissive. I kinda wish X-Act had stepped in with the calculus to take the formula to its conclusion; unfortunately, my own calc experience is limited to second year, and all my notes are in storage. :P
