Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Well, since apparently we will continue to talk about sleep instead of the active suspect test of Kyurem, I'll once again say I find it hilarious when someone says "but we've had the mod for so long." just because it took awhile for enough people to realize that the mod was a mistake doesn't...
I think Yawn would likely be too strong, but I would personally not oppose a suspect test. Unlike other sleep where if you land it, the mon is just unusable for a random number of turns, yawn could be seen as a roar/whirlwind that has the option to sleep instead. I once again say I feel it'd...
Clearly will be both dropping Chi-Yu and banning snow
It's a shame to see Ninetales-Alola go, but snow is clearly overpowered and needs to be gotten rid of. /s
As long as its not under-20c, its fine really.
A suspect test, as mentioned prior, would have been an unrestricted sleep meta.
I *guess* we could have spent a week or two with 6 mons that either have spore, sleep talk, or both. but I'm not going to mourn the loss of that experience.
yeah I only skimmed the policy review thread but even I knew that the survey was moreso just a guideline. I figured pretty much anything over a 3 would get it banned based on the views I saw expressed by mods and council members here.
As a less experienced player, let me take a crack at translating that
Pokemon Bans: Tend to be gen specific unless its obvious, open to being unbanned just as easily and can be unbanned at the change of the meta when a new game or DLC releases
Policy change: Integrated into the very way Smogon...
I have to agree that Hypnosis Darkrai wasn't even good, as it was basically a 60% chance to win, 40% to die. It's just the fact that it had a 60% chance to be a 6-0 was uncompetitive, not necessarily good. its the same idea that evasion isn't even a good strategy, but its also an uncompetitive...
I imagine it depends on what logic the council uses for the ban, should this be sleep.
For example, if the council bans it due to finding sleep even with clause uncompetitive, it could be re-reviewed. but if the council finds the clause incompatible with current policy, I'd suspect it won't get...
There is already a survey set to go up to ask people's opinion on sleep, after which the council will make a decision. Really we're just discussing stuff to kill time because, as has been said before, its clear no public consensus is being reached
