I'm not entirely sure how the education system here pairs up with that elsewhere but I just got my prelims back for my Highers so figured it was at least something I could contribute! I'm in my penultimate year of High School. Got an A in Maths, Human Bio, Physics and French, now just waiting...

I usually play through with regional Pokemon, and then after beating the Elite Four and a new area / region is unlocked I assemble a new team, maybe keeping one Pokemon. I like to just pick the team as I go, too - I ended up with a Chimecho in my last Pearl team because it seemed like a fun idea...

I too see nothing wrong with it so long as you're not passing the team of as your own. Someone could be brilliant at actual play but rubbish at team building, so I don't think there should be any shame if they need a little push to get them started. Though I think the real question is up to how...
