    When choosing the base format to build the metagame off of, I chose 1v1 for the reason that it already had large elements of luck present. While I do agree with your point on luck based metagames, having the basis of the format as 1v1 hurts it a lot less than it being a 6v6 or doubles (even 2v2)...
