Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
This got long. Mainly because my mind went more to "who is the most accomplished in terms of their mastery of a given type" as opposed to "who is the most powerful".
From my perspective, expertise in a given type isn't just about being able to battle with it well - it's understanding its...
Which was my thinking behind this. There's likely nothing stopping manufacturers from making more Master and Cherish balls, but both ball types are supposed to be fabulously rare so it follows there'd be some kind of protection in place to ensure ordinary people couldn't make cheap copies of...
I'm pretty sure you can't copy an individual bitcoin, no?
I may be misremembering but my recollection was that after hatching, the Pokemon would still need to be caught - it's not automatically yours just because you've hatched it, in the episode where Togepi hatches Ash and friends all fight...
Pokeball inheritance raises so many questions. How exactly does a Pokemon in a Dive Ball spawn a bunch of new Dive Balls for any eggs it creates? Are they actually spawned, or are they just fresh balls? I pretty much headcanoned that both the Master and Cherish balls have some kind of "digital...
To memory, no-one but Blaine has a Slugma or a Magcargo on their team but it's one of those Pokémon the game obliquely hints at through NPC dialogue like Slowking or Porygon2: a boy in Fuchsia City tells you that he "saw these weird, slow Pokémon on Cycling Road".
So you CAN technically get Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile super early if you grind like crazy! (for the love of merciful christ don't do this to yourself)
I'm kind of stuck on the idea of what a "secondary starter" really is, tbh. People have posited some good examples, but IMO there's a big difference between "this is a strong Pokemon available comparatively early-on" (of which there are many) and a Pokemon the game actively positions as a backup...
Yes that's true, but that's still a highly specific example - not everyone is going to use Buneary, just as not everyone is going to use Softboiled because they're not using a Chansey.
Tbf, it's rarely been a particularly easy move to obtain and/or use. I've always viewed it as more of a fun bonus mechanic rather than an item I expect to pick up and/or use; there are multiple titles in which you can play through the whole campaign and likely never get the TM.
in GSC I don't...
I believe that once the monitor goes off the Pokemon is set, but not any other factors (so save states should be able to be used to try for perfect stats/shinies once you have the specific Pokemon you desire)
So it's kind of surprising this has never really occurred to me before, but... it's funny Nincada and Surskit haven't ever really been treated as counterparts in any of the usual ways.
The whole land/sea dichotomy comes up a lot in Hoenn's roster of Pokemon (it's even in the default names of...
Saw this on Twitter earlier and yes it is real (it's not actually the official guide though) and it's possibly the first time I genuinely hope Game Freak sues someone to hell and back
