What pokémon got affected most by changes in the remakes of their games?

At least it's better than Mawile's dreadful availability in Emerald. They made it and Sableye catchable in the same title but... Sableye is available early on while Mawile bafflingly gets confined to Victory Road. One of that game's small number of misses.

(Little) Things that annoy you in Pokémon

(missed the direct because I was in a meeting that hour and entirely forgot about it) hahahahahahahahahahaha nice try you can't fool me with that shitty DeviantArt-ass fakemon design, that's so ugly and outlandish- -oh

Little things you like about Pokémon

Was reminded of how in DPPt there's a Black Belt on Route 210 who says "Defog. You know, that move where bird Pokemon flap their wings and blow away fog". I like that this is so clearly explained, first time I used Waterfall out of battle in GSC I went "how the FUCK did my Seadra just do that"

My interpretation was that the disc is hooked up to the Pokeball through an unseen port (like hooking up an external hard drive to a computer), which scans the information of the move and imparts it to the Pokemon inside. That's just based on how FRLG depicts it though.

    Sticky Orange Islands SQSA Thread

Since I just mentioned the NPCs who hint at the existence and/or evolution methods of unseen Pokemon in RBY and GSC in a different thread, I was trying to think of all the examples of this - can anyone think of any others I may have overlooked? there's two boys in Celadon Dept Store in GSC...

    Unpopular opinions

Honestly no, I think you're being too hard on yourself Venusaur objectively is the best starter - it's advantageous against most of the gyms, and even the game's own guide calls it out as "the easy mode" compared to Charmander or Squirtle. Competitively speaking it's not , but that was less of...

(Little) Things that annoy you in Pokémon

This is particularly stark in Hoenn when you literally get the Good Rod on the eastern bank of Route 118, likely after you've just used Surf for the first time. That said, Hoenn isn't terrible for Water-type distribution since Marill, Wingull, Lotad are available in the tall grass (Surskit also...

    SPOILERS! General Pokémon Anime Discussion

Thinking it over, Ash deciding he was going to challenge "the best trainer in the world" was always such a ridiculous premise. Was like me with my level 26 Quilava thinking I was unbeatable and then getting trashed in a link battle by one of my friends who'd actually finished the game. God loves...

You are a type specialist in a hostile region. How do you best represent your chosen element?

Okay, so - we have our new concept. Last round's winner wanted to do something a little different, and so chose a location we've never ventured to before - the vibrant Oblivia region. So after some research, that's what we're doing! You are a Bug-type specialist on Renbow Island. How do you...

    Sticky Orange Islands SQSA Thread

FRLG has a place vastly better than the Elite Four: there's a pair of Cooltrainers at the bottom of Sevault Canyon right by the house with the Chansey dance guy who both have teams of five Pokemon in the mid-50s. It's a very efficient grinding spot.

Pokémon that exceeded your expectations in-game despite looking bad initially?

Hoothoot is great in HGSS; I also used mine in my first playthrough in White 2 courtesy of the Dream Radar. Talk about an average Pokemon made into a veritable superstar, Tinted Lens is phenomenal on it thanks to the abundance of Rocks/Steels in the midgame. Slowpoke is wonderful too, but...
