Defiant does not activate if you lower your own stats. The Defiant Pokemon's stats were lowered by an allied Galvantula's Sticky Webs, hence Defiant may have reason to not activate. It cannot be concluded that Defiant/Competitive are affected by opposing Sticky Webs from the evidence in that video.

In Sword and Shield there is an item called Utility Umbrella which " ...makes the holder immune to the effects of weather.". This item is not available on showdown - or at least cannot be accessed in the team builder. In my testing the Utility Umbrella allowed the Pokemon to take less damage...

Update the speed mechanics soon please! Speed is re-assessed every move rather than at the beginning of each turn. This is really big for doubles.
