Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
It appears that Pokémon from the Roster Ranch may have multiple titles by default. I found a Mow Rotom “the Great” that I ended up permanently recruiting, and when I went to the Change Title section for it I noticed it also has “the Sleepy” as an available title. I wonder whether the title...
This reminded me to see something for myself. I changed a Rotom’s form between Champions visits and it works exactly as described in the disclaimers: the moveset and EV-to-SP conversion is re-done each time it visits again while in a different form. This means that for Pokémon like Rotom, you...
They may still adjust further when the Galar fossils actually release. From what I remember, base SV had Grassy Glide at a nerfed 60 Power from SS, but when the move was finally accessible after an update it was reduced further to the final 55 Power it has.
I’ve been perusing the Gameplay Guides and the very last entry in the Other section reveals an Offline Competition mode that you can access from the title screen. It requires an Entry ID, however, so it’s definitely not a general workaround the online requirement for matches. Could it maybe be...
I noticed that the anime has been showing off a Mega Starmie quite a bit, and they make it look much more muscular than it appears in Legends Z-A. The ability called Muscleman in Japanese is a perfect fit, in the end.
I like the way they handled it with the red icon, because it means that they can in fact give moves to, or take moves from, Pokémon between seasons or regulations.
I apologize if this was already answered, but does Unseen Fist have the same effect description as before or does it match Piercing Drill, with the 25% damage into Protect moves?
This is all really proving that they have been paying a lot of attention to player’s reactions in the official circuit. Both are great changes! I hope Freeze was similarly adjusted to have a higher chance of thawing every turn.
So what happens when a Gengar with Encore, an Incineroar with Knock Off, or an Archaludon with Body Press visits from HOME? Do those moves get deleted or are you forced to teach something else?
Is the description the same as the datamined one for Piercing Drill? That alone will make my day!
Someone really needs to look into the description for Dire Claw as well. I’ve been crossing my fingers for a nerf to 30% chance total for status infliction.
I was gonna say they are probably saving them for Dynamax, but that feels wrong. It looks more like a conscious decision to have no Terrain auto-setters for now, so Rillaboom stays out while Cinderace and Inteleon are just collateral damage.
I think Heal Block has a decent chance of being restored in Champions, having been brought back in the base game of Legends Z-A, and as a TM to boot. Its return would even track with GameFreak’s disdain for stall strategies, which was preceded by Heal Block’s effect being brought back via...
It's too bad that Size Classification appears to be a viewable metric in the mobile version only for Pokémon that have been to LZ-A. I understand that the Size Classifications used in LZ-A have different ranges from the size ranges used in SV, but still.
On the other hand, I placed my Alpha Mr...
I have been wishing for Unseen Fist to be weakened for a long while, and the description for Piercing Drill gives me hope that Unseen Fist will be updated to be the same once Urshifu is added to Champions. Honestly I think there's a good chance that it will be the case, as it would be strange...
I see no reason not to expect so. When the news originally dropped, there actually were some claiming that it could mean Pokémon moving into Legends Z-A would be trapped there forever as there was no mention of them being able to move to future titles afterwards, but I still think that was a...
