Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Agree 100%. The scariest thing Gholdengo can do vs Stall is run Psyshock, but it's problem is that it simply existing forces defensive teams to all be boots and knock off absorbers that don't melt to hazards. It just makes the game less fun by being there.
Even in a case like this where the ban is almost assured, I think finch is right and a suspect is the right call. Will it be relatively boring? Yes, but it will be democratic.
Yeahh, the biggest defensive loss from a tera ban imo is amnesia tera steel clod. Even Calm Mind Blissey will eventually get plowed through by Espathra. Psyspam in general gets better, I think.
I think a tera ban is never off the table, but I'm not sure how it would pan out since it really does warrant a total reset of the meta. Maybe a slow reintegration of banned mons? Idk, all of this has been discussed to death. It's just gonna come down to a suspect vote tbh.
Does Gouging even run tera blast? I understand what you're trying to say, but using the mon with the highest support to be banned is also not a great example.
Like rn, the options are two binaries. Restrict tera Y/N, and ban tera Y/N. To stay on topic, yes, I am in favor of some form of...
I feel like the issue then moreso is gambit and volc. Anyway, I'm advocating for a first step, not a final step, and I assure you, I'm taking in a holistic perspective.
I feel like if we had the gen 4 -> 5 team preview change happen today, people would be arguing against it for the exact same reason. In other words, I don't find that to be a good reason to dismiss the idea. It would objectively make tera blast worse, so I'll stand by it as a reasonable first step.
I've only really been running stall this meta because I don't like HO which is too good rn, so that's informing my ratings.
:Gholdengo: I long for a world where I can run items other than HDB on mons not named Clefable or Gliscor. This thing does its job by existing in the meta. It doesn't even...
Fully aware of the name and what it is, but the scenario you describe sounds like one where the traditional suspect process is doomed to fail because nobody can reach a consensus on what to ban first because there are too many broken mons. So unless there's another option, the Kokoloko method...
B+ -> A-
It's becoming a running joke of stall teams peaking on ladder. This thing may as well be to stall as pelipper is to rain. It's borderline impossible to make viable stall without . Gouging Fire opting to run breaking swipe to beat curse is really a testament to its influence.
C+ -> B...
Maybe a tentative suspect agenda would be a good idea?
Like if people can't justify wanting to ban x because it checks y and makes the game more bearable or y deserves to be banned more, so x can't be banned becomes a weaker argument if they know that it is going to be suspected next unless...
Fantastic team. Been having fun with it on ladder. I think the strongest feature is how that specific combo of mons makes me want to forfeit more than any other.
My hot take:
I think Kingambit is more oppressive than Raging Bolt. I'm seeing them being compared a lot, and I think Kingambit is due for a retest now that we are presumably at the end of the DLC pipeline.
Kingambit has arguably a much better defensive typing. It's immune to toxic and resists...
Try going to Clodsire, Tera Steel, and use Amnesia. It can't touch you after that. The Hatterene that beat me while using this team was Tera Flying. It's immune to EQ, so it can't be worn down. Fortunately very rare.
How is this team supposed to answer opposing Meowscarada? Should I be always...
