Voted for Water, hopefully as many have said it won't turn into another Water/Ground, I was thinking of a pure Water but I don't want another Suicune...maybe there'll be interesting secondary type suggestions I thought of an interesting ability for the CaP if it does turn out to be Water, but...

I voted for Decentralizer...Although I don't play OU as much (I play more UU) one of the reasons I like UU is the variety of strategies/pokemon that people use. If OU was decentralized so I wouldn't have to face down Scizor and Zapdos as much, there would be an increase in novel movesets...

IIRC, doesn't Clamperl evolve through trading? So you shouldn't have problems with it evolving in your game.

Steelix is a common one, I would also suggest Weezing because it can Will-o-wisp.

Bumparoni. An update on the team, it's doing well so far, but I've had trouble with Curse Steelix, somehow ran into 2 of those in the past 5 battles... EDIT: Sorry, did I bump too soon? I apologize in advance if I did.
