Well, I'm new to Smogon, but I'm an old pro at pokemon; I've been playing since Red and Blue, and every game since. I've been battling competitively since Gen 2, so I know my way around the games, but I'm only vaguely aware of how you guys do things, as far as tiers and whatnot. But from what I've heard from people, this seems like the place to be to refine battling skills, and have informative discussions, so I thought I'd come check you guys out. Hopefully I'll see you guys around the forums as I get to know you all, and see what Smogon is all about!
