    Unfortunately that thought did not occur to me immediately to test out MM as I do not intentionally breed for shinies. I just use a foreign ditto to increase egg spawning speed for genderless test pokemon. Definitely the next step in testing would of had been to SR and reuse the original parents...

    Yeah I did. The IVs were terrible on it. Max HP Rotom with trash Speed and Satk. I also took a gamble on that if the shiny was to be retained, I would end up with a perfect shiny Rotom.
