Yes, you're right. It's mostly to Baton Pass the extra Special Defense and Substitutes to your sweepers. There is also another option you could try, which is Fire Blast on Garchomp. That makes use of the Sp Atk and also hurts Skarmory alot more.

Sorry. Poliwrath can't really do much. Infernape without a Swords Dance does ~149 damage with Infight against a Max Defense, +Defense Nature, Perfect IV Poliwrath, ~295 with a Swords Dance. With a Swords Dance, it will likey beat it, due to the fact that I have Will-o-Wisp, Toxic, Stealth Rock...

Very nice battle. This just makes me want Diamond and Pearl even more. Every day seems to go so slowly, it feels like it will be forever until they come out. This just adds to the reasons that Gyro Ball should never be used, especially not with Thunder Wave.

Skarmory is just one Pokemon. But I will consider your advise.

You have a good point. I'll switch Life Orb for Expert Belt. Flare Drive is really a good move for Infernape, although I see you're point. I'll consider Blaze Kick.
