Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
I've read Tangerine's post on counter mentality. I don't remember it word for word and I will agree that it was a good post. But if I remember correctly not everyone exactly 100% agreed with that mentality. Counters I don't believe to be a thing of the past, even though they are more and more...
I already explained a situation in which Bronzong comes in on a Dragon Dance. Yes, it can counter Salamence but only if you score at least a 97% hit. Of course a Choice Band Gyro Ball will OHKO, but that seems a little bit too specialized of a counter to me. And Explosion is not a counter...
Cannot come in safely.
Cresselia Get's destroyed by Life Orb Outrage. Steel's get ruined by Fire Blast, they even don't like taking Life Orb Outrage.
If Stealth Rock and Sandstorm don't wear it down it's almost guranteed you'll lose one Pokemon trying to take Salamence down.
Earthquake...
I'm going to have to disagree, since I've been using Bronzong as it's counter up to this point (and it only works on occasion).
Here's my reasoning: Bronzong is usually a lead Pokemon, which means the opponnent knows you have that as a potential counter. If the opponent is a smart player he'll...
I don't know if this is the appropriate place to post/ask this but... is the counter section going to be updated too?
The current one is horribly outdated and I'm having a hell of time trying to figure out something that could counter it decently well. I'd be interested to hear what some of...
Weaville can't switch in to Salamence if his life depended on it. Unless a lucky prediction on a Dragon Dance and even then some are carrying a Yache Berry :/
What is a good Salamence counter?
I'm slowly getting the feeling there is none. I'm almost tempted to make a thread on how Salamence is the next Garchomp. But before I do, I just want to see if anyone can give me a good counter that I may have missed.
This is where my suggested Swift Swim ban would come into play. I realize there are 4 pokes with only Swift Swim. In which case, some further remedying would have to be done.
I've had ideas floating through my head lately of a metagame that would combine Uber, OU, BL, and UU. I believe this idea has been brought up on occasion on Smogon, although I don't know if it was ever fully discussed.
Now some of you may be reading this and thinking I'm absolutely crazy...
Yup, that was a good game. A couple of instances were luck on my part, the battle could have really gone anyway.
This battle wasn't a super-prediction war, but more of a just really intense and close battle, which are always the best.
Haha, oh man, I remember this battle. The funny thing is that this was my experimental team I was screwing around with (hence the reason Ice Fang on Rhyperior). I was trying to see if a Focus Sash Ninjask would work. He does on occasion, depending on how well prepared the other team is.
Yeah...
