I had this moment in 2013 (pre-Pokebank) where I traded away my Yveltal for a shiny foreign ditto on GTS, though it was regretful because I used the Yveltal in competitive battling. :( At least I made up my loss by breeding a shiny Charmander with the foreign Ditto.
