  1. Shoddy Battle Ladder

I've been on the top 100, briefly. It's not particularly exciting. Have fun though!
  2. Garchomp, the most broken pokemon in OU.

Do you have the link to said thread? It's rather annoying that searching is disabled. =/
  3. Help me to beat this guy.

good luck getting around his ludicolo. Have fun.
  4. The Suicide Sweeper...

Yeah I've been thrown off by Serebii on that too. I'm kind of glad of it though. I've killed plenty of Garchomps because they didn't think my CB Hariyama could ice punch 'em. : )
  5. The Suicide Sweeper...

My favorite Pokemon begs to differ. >=O
  6. Garchomp, the most broken pokemon in OU.

This will be a lot of fun when it turns out to be chain chomp
  7. Garchomp, the most broken pokemon in OU.

Yeah, there is nothing unbeatable about this set. And as DT pointed out, it's not maxing out its attack, which means you will be able to more easily counter it with something that would otherwise get 2HKOd. What I do think is a valid point is just that this is one more possibility on top of...
  8. The Suicide Sweeper...

I'd be willing to venture it's at least as bad as, if not worse than the sub version.
  9. The Suicide Sweeper...

Well, also, people don't use things for walls if they have a common 4x weakness. Swampert's, grass, is quite rare, so it still works better than Garchomp as a wall. Not to mention the fact that Garchomp is weak to other dragon attacks, which are one of the most important attacks to be able to...
  10. How you would fix and/or balance the metagame for the next generation, and why?

Mekkah's suggestion is interesting, but I'm sort of conflicted about it. I'm still relatively new to playing Pokemon competitively; I only started paying attention at the end of R/S/E. I've been around for all of D/P though and what I've had to come to terms with after my initial excitement...
  11. Garchomp, the most broken pokemon in OU.

I don't want to try to add too much here since this has gone on long enough and doesn't seem to be accomplishing much in its current form, but I just want to point out I think you guys are losing the plot a little with the discussion of how often sandstorm occurs. If Akuma was only used 25% of...
  12. The Suicide Sweeper...

I already played around with the EVs a little, and you can't really do it without sacrificing too much. A CB mamoswine ice shard is out of the question. Unstabbed or otherwise unboosted ones, maybe, but I think it's a bad idea to try to do both.
  13. The Suicide Sweeper...

If you want to get rid of Garchomp, the best way would be to introduce as many effective new sets as possible to increase its brokenness. I like this idea a lot. If I were using it I'd probably put less in speed and more in attack. Outspeeding choice users is nice, but the only stuff you need...
  14. Are situational/gimick sets worth it?

No, that's the whole point. When people say a set is "gimmicky" they mean it's so "innovative" that it is useful only in a handful of specific circumstances, and the thing that's bad about it is that other things would be useful much more often, so competitively there's no reason to use the...
  15. Are situational/gimick sets worth it?

I don't think I said that. I'm not sure I would say it's even stupid, mostly I'd just say it's completely ineffective because the number of situations in which it's effective is so low that it will virtually never do any good. I have a hard time believing that a person who uses it is stupid for...
