  1. np: OU Suspect Testing Round 5 - Sandstorm (Excadrill/Thundurus Banned)

I feel like scarf pokes still have an important place on the ladder. In 4th gen a scarf poke was your ultimate answer to any stat booster. Now with weather speed boosters this is becoming less the case. But scarf'd fighting moves are still as valuable as ever as is shown by the popularity of...
  2. np: OU Suspect Testing Round 5 - Sandstorm (Excadrill/Thundurus Banned)

Dual Screen Memento Uxie is filthy in OU this generation. With two screens up and a memento, if the opponent is not wise enough to switch out, any set up sweeper of yours can set up without worry. And if they switch out, you get a free turn of set up. Cloyster with its great pre-smash defenses...
  3. Terrakion

I've been running an adamant Sub 3-attacks LO Set that works like a charm. Admittedly surprise factor is a big deal here, but it still hits like a truck even without boosts. I used to run expert belt but the extra power from LO is highly appreciated. Survivability may be an issue but...
  4. Poll: Would you still play in Smogon's OU if all perma-weather was banned?

I would probably stop playing OU if weather was banned. I've never used a weather team in my life. Never even used T-tar or hippo. But I, above all want to play the game it was intended to be played. I think weather is less influential to this game then things like entry hazards. I can see...
  5. Jolteon

doesn't volt absorb absorb thunder wave anyway. So the only use for quick feet would be to avoid glare/stun spore. Which aren't that common at all.
  6. Spinda

The best spinda I played was an entire team strategy. Spinda was the lead and was presumably scarfed and had assist. It proceeded to only use moves like v-create and draco meteor. Powerful moves that would normally drop stats used to increase said stats instead. It used v-create turn 1 and...
  7. New and 'creative' moveset/EV spread thread - BW UU Edition

I've been running an empoleon lead that's been pretty successful. Empoleon @ Balloon 252 HP 252 Atk Adamant/Impish Aqua Jet Earthquake Stealth Rock Yawn It can set up hazards. Yawn to rack up residual damage. EQ and AJ provide decent lead coverage and AJ works great for sash breaking.
  8. New and 'creative' moveset/EV spread thread - BW UU Edition

This frosslass set kicks serious ass. I fought one with thunderbolt in the fourth slot, which I thought was a pretty terrible choice. But with blizzard in the last slot, this is far more annoying and far more efficient than stallrein.
  9. Pumice Stone

This item was clearly made to make epic win plays. Predict a trick-scarf and switch in your aggron with pumice stone. Next turn outspeed and Heavy Bomber directly at the weak point for massive damage. They can't see through their tears of shame and defeat to continue battling against you. So...
  10. Gallade

The most effective gallade set I've used has been. Gallade @ Salac Berry Careful Nature 140 HP 206 Atk 164 Speed Close Combat Thunder Wave Destiny Bond Ice Punch Ev's are so it can outspeed 0 speed invested Jirachi, Tentacruel, Celebi. The rest are to help out gallade's impressive...
  11. Reuniclus

I can't imagine banning rankurusu. Its poor typing and pretty good but not great stats let it down. It is good though but even after the major suspects are gone i don't think this guy would ever deserve to be banned.
  12. Umbreon

I assumed it would go like this. X used Y Umbreon used Yawn. X tries to switch out to avoid obvious sleep Umbreon Used Pursuit. Pursuit gets boost because X is switching. New pokemon comes in. Repeat. With Umbreon's bulk and healing + entry hazards this is a super interesting possibility.
  13. Umbreon

Can Umbreon have Yawn and Pursuit on the same set this gen? Because that would be its viability right there. Set up hazards. Yawn, Pursuit on switch. Pursuit does tons of damage, you shuffled (effectively) and hazards damage. Repeat endessly. If opponent finally lets someone sleep, You could sub...
  14. Politoed

That sounded utterly preposterous at first. But if I saw a bog standard looking rain team and the opponent didn't start with politoed, which does happen if they fear you have something that can OHKO it in your lead spot. Then they just used water absorb politoed and bulky DD Kingdra and SubSeed...
  15. Blastoise (Analysis) [QC 0/3]

I've been running a Utility Blastoise to some good success and it would probably be a nice consideration for the analysis. Blastoise @Leftovers/Wacan Berry Torrent w/ Careful Nature 252 Hp EVs 252 Atk EVs -Aqua Jet -Ice Punch -Rapid Spin -Hail Blastoise can use its good defensive typing and...
