Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Nature Power only changes with Terrain, not weather. It still transforms your attack into the respective terrain type (Electric Terrain=Thunderbolt, Grassy Terrain=Energy Ball, Misty Terrain=Moonblast, Psychic Terrain=Psychic). Not sure if Secret Power effects have changed yet. Bulbapedia lists...
Reading through the player's guide, it seems that it does provide some new and correct info regarding battle mechanics i.e. Ash-Greninja's Water Shuriken and the drop in -ate abilities to 1.2x, but there are some places where it is wrong. The description for Weak Armor is wrong (still says speed...
The player's guide also says Helping Hand will make the ally's Pollen Puff heal more than 50% HP if used on an ally (the Helping Hand user) or deal more damage (obviously) to the opponent if used against them.
It's Nature-locked in the demo, but not in the actual game when you pick it up from the guy in the Pokemon center. You don't get the same Greninja as the one from the demo.
Yes, you're right, but I want to soft-reset for a good nature for my Ash-Greninja before saving. Working on it now. Already beat the game and defeated every trainer in normal gameplay, so it's a bit tricky to do it offline.
No problem. I've been curious about this myself. The guide says exactly 3, but it could be wrong, so if anyone else wants to put in the effort to test this, that'd be great.
Got the player's guide. For those interested, Greninja's Battle Bond raises Water Shuriken's power (while Ash-Greninja) from 15 to 20, and it always hits 3 times.
Fun fact: If Toucannon is asleep and tries to use Beak Blast, the "heating beak" phase still occurs, and it can still burn Pokemon who make direct contact with it. I assume this "heating beak" phase also can dethaw it if it's frozen, but I haven't tested it yet. I don't have Ice Beam or Blizzard...
This is a good point. Seems like the case where the Sun and Moon Official Strategy Guide might give a few handy secret details. I've seen hidden info that people didn't know about until reading the Player's Guide in past generations. Special egg moves may be unlikely, but it doesn't hurt to...
Not sure if this was even tested back in Black/White or X/Y days or if it's different in Sun/Moon, but how does Wonder Room stack with Power Trick? Are the Att/Def stats swapped before Def/Sp.D swapped (from Wonder Room), or is the Def/Sp.D swapped before the Att/Def swap? An easy test would be...
Has Magic Room and Embargo been changed to stop the use of Mega Stones? And/Or does it stop the use of Z-crystals, so Pokemon can't use their Z-moves under the effects of Magic Room or Embargo?
Just had a Stunfisk use Camouflage during Misty Terrain, and it turned into a Fairy Type. I presume it works the same for the other Terrain moves as well. Fairy-type Starmie, anyone? Haha. Also, I discovered that Misty Terrain does not prevent confusion as a Haunter was able to use Confuse Ray...
