  1. Sword Storm (a Dream World Rain Team)

I don't think you were reading my post very carefully - in DW OU (on Smogon Server), Thundurus and Excadrill are unbanned. Also, don't knock CB Breloom before you try it - it destroys many things with little effort. Tornadus's best set is indeed Specs, IMO, but I will look into DNite, since...
  2. Sword Storm (a Dream World Rain Team)

Blown Away and Shredded to Bits - The Storm of Swords Okay, this is probably my favorite team, and my most successful team to date, peaking at 30 on the Smogon Dream World OU ladder. It's a fairly simple team, based upon an end-game sweep with what I feel to be one of the most underused...
  3. Elemental Gems and their effects in competitive battling

Flying Gem Archeops is actually pretty decent in OU. It's gotta beware of Scizor and Lucario yeah, but so do a lot of things. Get it in safely (choice EQs, something that it resists, encore support, something!), and force a switch. The cool thing is that almost nothing can safely switch into...
  4. Breloom

CB Techniloom is dangerous. I'm using one on my DW Rain team, and it's swept teams by itself with Mach Punch once bulky resists and ghosts have been eliminated. It also sets up sweeps for others well because it does huge gobs of damage with Low Sweep (1-2HKOs a LOT of things) and Bullet Seed...
  5. Infernape

I'm not going to lie. Grass Knot does diddly squat to Tentacruel even with NP, due to the fact that it has high SpD, a neutrality and surprisingly light weight. Fire Blast does more in the sun, but I'm not 100% sure in neutral weather, and obviously not in rain. For a while, I ran a Sun Ape...
  6. Let's shake up the DW OU metagame...

You really can't just say that Garchomp's PROBABLY going to run a Scarf Set. The DW OU and current Ubers Meta are completely different. Garchomp runs scarf in Ubers because he outspeeds a huge majority of them and can act as a revenge killer, while his SD set, outside of STAB coverage, is...
  7. The best of the best!

I guess I'll do a DW/Non-DW one. Set-up sweeper: Dream World Calm Mind Keldeo. In the rain, nothing switches into it. The only things that can hope to take it on are Starmie, the Latis, Gengar and certain Scarfers. Rain-boosted +1 Hydro Pump hits ridiculously hard, 2HKOing almost everything...
  8. Keldeo [available from June 23rd to August 31st]

IIRC, +1 Hydro Pump in Rain 2HKOs Dnite, although I'm not sure if that rocks. I think Shaymin/Celebi would be too. In fact, not sure why you would use Shaymin when Celebi does an even better job.
  9. Lucario

Even then, other than not taking Ice Punch for Crunch/Extreme Speed, there's really not much stopping Luke from Ice Punching the shit out of Gliscor anyways. Lucario generally outspeeds most Gliscors, and defensive ones are 2HKOed at the very worst unless Lucario is burned and at -1 or...
  10. Project Mono-Type: Psychic

No matter which style we decide to go with, Sableye is a huge problem. It's immune to the Psychic + Fighting combo, and while its stats are pretty poor, it's still bulky enough to take random shadow balls, and it isn't complete setup fodder due to Taunt and Foul Play. Xatu isn't fodder for...
  11. Lucario

    A) Why DD + Dtail B) What if Dtail doesn't miss? C) Why don't they just Waterfall/EQ for the KO? I like NP luke too, but it has a lot of issues.
  12. Keldeo [available from June 23rd to August 31st]

+1 Hydro Pump 2HKOs practically everything, IIRC, in Rain. Secret Sword hits random shit, but really, it's all about that sexy Hydro Pump damage. HP Elec/HP Ghost/HP Grass to deal with Jellicent. HP Grass hits Gastrodon hard, but I'm pretty sure Gastro doesn't want to deal with +1 Secret Sword.
  13. Gen V Initial NU Metagame Thread

I'm not sure how well it will work in NU but for a while, I toyed around with Mix Klinklang, which did pretty well (well, as well as Klinklang can do lolol) 40 HP/252 Atk/80 SpA/136 Spe Hasty/Naive @Life Orb/Expert Belt/Leftovers Gear Shift Gear Grind HP Ground/HP Fighting Return HP Ground...
  14. Project Mono-Type: Psychic

Even then, Scrafty wants to be careful on what it switches in on, since Focus Blast, HP Fighting, Iron Head, Superpower, etc. is flying around everywhere. Even with that 65/115/155 bulk, it's still not going to appreciate, let's say, a Focus Blast from LO Alakazam or a Drain Punch from Gallade...
  15. Project Mono-Type: Psychic

No, the problem is that Volcarona at +1 outspeeds and OHKOs Starmie before it does shit. Relying on perfectly timing a switch-in to Volca is a bad idea, too. That being said, the defensive Victini and/or revenge with X seems to be the best idea we have.
