Forretress knows spikes, toxic spikes, and stealth rock. Maybe that's supposed to be shirukens hidden underground? Lance also has a Gyrados... They gave him two dragonair. In gen 2, he gets a tyranitar. Still no new dragon types.

I wonder how Koga has a Forretress. Janine and Koga both have Foretress, which is bug steel, making NO SENSE! Think about it. Lance has Aerodactyl. Koga has Forretress. Nothing makes sense. If you don't want him to escape, use a trapping move e.g. Bind.

Protect is a stall move. It's about wasting the opponent's PP or killing them with toxic stall. The sprites get worse and worse. Gen 6 was already to still. (The Pokemon were hardly moving) I think Gen 2 is better overall, comparing them. E.g. Scizor actually looked like it was in a battle...
