Most likely, he wasn't expecting Weavile to have Ice Shard. However, as I look back to it, this WAS a bad example because I had a priority move. The way I see it though, fragile sweepers (like Weavile) aren't going to be able to take a hit anyways; so why make an attempt to protect their HP?
