I see a lot of people claiming that because it "wrecks balanced teams" (or wrecks any specific style of team) it should be banned. This doesn't actually hold any water (even assuming that it actually does wreck said style, which is far from decided): we don't try to make the meta game friendly...

If you go by the logic that it should be built to counter what its team mates don't, and that most other pokemon are somewhat narrow in what they can or can't counter, you could reasonably guess a lot of what it is going to run.

So, in other words, what you are trying to say is that it is predictable based on what its team mates are? If it is predictable, then it really loses most of the main reasons why everyone thinks it should be banned.

OK, a few things to note: 1) The fact that Greninja is the most viable pokemon in the tier does not warrant a ban. Since there will always be 1 pokemon who is best in the tier, if you use this argument for one pokemon, then you must use it for all eventually, and thus all pokemon will get banned...

Yeah, after you already have the boost you don't care too much about that. But switching in can be a problem. And special dark moves would also be hard to swap into.

As i said, the problem with mew is that it shares the exact same typing as espeon. If, for example, my opponent starts using bug buzz, i would have no way to build SpD bonuses.

Hmm… finally some good suggestions. Although i like my gorebyss as an amnesia passer. The thing is that calm mind is kinda slow at getting up SpD, and i often need SpD up quickly.

That pokemon that i pass stat changes onto to sweep is espeon using stored power. Since stored power gets 20 extra power for each stat boost, it can easily get over 200 base power, and with stab, it turns into a monster.
