A good way to check in the future is to try to validate the base Pokemon. If you try to validate just Genesect with shift gear (for any format) it'll tell you it needs to be shiny.

Gonna try this team out since I'm very new to this metagame, but I believe you'll want Lax nature. Bold swaps atk and defense, so you have no defense, and body press is super weak. Lax switches defense and sp def, which are the same base, but you get the + in defense.

If your only goal is to win the glowking ditto you'd be much better off running psyshock and investing into sp atk. Also great to potentially OHKO nidoking who usually only think he'll be hit by scald. Although if the goal is to also hit heatran, then I understand.
