Yes pretty much. After attacking, SD, although not an attacking move, will not bring you back to shield form. Haven't tried with Iron Defense, but King's Shield brings you back to shield form.

Fighting this... thing... in the Elite 4 showed some of its major flaws. Like you said, fighting is its major bane. But I say that with that 80 speed and 115 Def, it's not going to be able to withstand a physical hit from a Lucario or with its 100 SpD, a hit from Focus Blast, Grass moves in...

If one day Sylveon gets reflect, I'd like to use her as a dual screener. That SpD is nothing to scoff at. Also, Moonblast lowers Special Attack, not Special Defense.
